The Pink Cow, Harajuku
1-3-18 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku; 5pm-late Tues-Sun - Chiyoda, Ginza or Hanzomon Line to Omote-sando (exit B2)
All-you-can-eat buffet Friday & Saturday (Y 2625)
Though listed under BARS in the Lonely Planet, I'd say the Pink Cow is more of a catch-all evening hang out place. I first experienced the Pink Cow while waiting for then-legal magic mushrooms to come on. The trippy decor started coming to life, and after we rudely (although unknowingly) crashed a happy couple's wedding party, we found refuge in Yoyogi park nearby. We had to escape the crowds and crazy neon of Tokyo's city streets. What goes around comes around, since Kyle & Kyoko had their wedding reception here a year later - it was a blast!

Cafe Artifagose

Strong coffee, bread, pastry and fine cheese and an outdoor patio - my kind of place!
